Biddut Sarker Bijoy
I am a first year CS PhD student at
Stony Brook University (SBU)
. My research interests include (but are not limited to) natural language
processing, machine learning, deep learning, and
explainable AI.
Prior to joining SBU, I worked three years as a Machine Learning Software
Engineer at Goava, a Swedish B2B AI startup. I completed my undergraduate degree
in CS from Shahjalal
University of
Science and Technology (SUST). While at SUST, I was an active
Competitive Programmer at SUST ACM Lab where I solved mathematical and
real-world programming problems. I was lucky to have Dr.
Md. Ruhul Amin, Sabir
Ismail, Dr. Sudipta
Kar and Md. Saiful
Islam advise my undergraduate thesis. My thesis focused on ‘Predicting &
Interpreting the Likeability of Books’.
In addition, I worked on multiple projects as a remote Research
Assistant (RA)
under the supervision of
Dr. Md. Ruhul Amin
(FAIR Lab, Fordham University), and afterwards with Dr. Sheikh Rabiul Islam and Dr. Shubhra Kanti
Karmaker (Santu)
(BDI Lab, Auburn
University) from Q2 2020 to Q1 2022.
Apart from these, I love to play table tennis and badminton.
