Biddut Sarker Bijoy

I am a CS PhD student at Stony Brook University (SBU) , working at the Language Understanding and Reasoning (LUNR) lab under Professor Niranjan Balasubramanian. My research interests include (but are not limited to) natural language processing, efficient reasoning, agentic AI, and explainable AI.

Prior to joining SBU, I worked around three years as a Machine Learning Software Engineer at Goava, a Swedish B2B AI startup. I completed my undergraduate degree in CS from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST). I was lucky to have Dr. Md. Ruhul Amin, Sabir Ismail, Dr. Sudipta Kar and Md. Saiful Islam advise my undergraduate thesis. My thesis focused on ‘Predicting & Interpreting the Likeability of Books’.

In addition, I worked on multiple projects as a remote Research Assistant (RA) under the supervision of Dr. Md. Ruhul Amin (FAIR Lab, Fordham University), and afterwards with Dr. Sheikh Rabiul Islam and Dr. Shubhra Kanti Karmaker (Santu) (BDI Lab, Auburn University).

Apart from these, I love to play table tennis and badminton.
